MDRU Concept

The project objectives for the feasibility study of the Moveable and Deployable Resource Unit (MDRU) is to conduct real world testing on the unit in disaster-affected areas of the Philippines.

This project will ensure that the MDRU is able to establish an ICT network and services in ample time in order to help supply local communities with ICT services to fill the void caused by a natural disaster. The feasibility study will also ensure that the unit is sufficient for the Philippines climate and conditions for future expansion of the project across the nation.

The MDRU will supply the local community with ICT services such as Internet and telephone services and be able to provide local authorities with real world data and working disaster management software.

THE TECHNOLOGY
The MDRU is a vehicle based ICT unit, which can be fully modularized and upgraded in the future to keep up with modern technology. As the unit is vehicle based it can be deployed to disaster affected area in a short period of time.
